About the Artist

Hanan Youssef

Hanan Youssef is an artist with a background in architecture. She was drawn to drawing and painting from a young age, and that early passion eventually became her career. Her architectural training still informs her eye for structure, space and composition.

Hanan enjoys experimenting. She moves between oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel, and explores a wide range of styles and themes. That freedom gives her work its variety and depth.

She has developed her practice through workshops in Egypt and abroad, and she now shares it through her own watercolor workshops for children and adults.

Hanan has held numerous solo exhibitions and has taken part in group exhibitions at private galleries in Egypt and abroad, as well as many exhibitions organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture
